This is a World War II distinctive insignia for the United States Army 169th Infantry Regiment. The DI shows two diagonal blue banners separating a fleur-de-lis from a prickly pear cactus. At the DI's top is a lion passant, and the DI reads ARMIS STANT LEGIS (laws are maintained by force of arms).
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enameled areas.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has some slight abrasions to the enamel.
