This is a souvenir ribbon for the launching of the USS Pipefish (SS-388) from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. The Pipefish was launched on October 12, 1943 and earned six battle stars onn an equal number of war patrols for her World War II service.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 5-7/8 in height and 2-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed navy silk.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LFJX3/11
CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The ribbon has minimal wear with some fraying at its top edge.
