This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Pipefish (SS-388). The Pipefish was launched on October 12, 1943 at Portsmouth (NH) Naval Shipyard and earned six battle stars in an equal number of war patrols for her World War II service.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:About 1-3/4 in width by 2-1/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Foiled card stock.
ATTACHMENT:Silk string.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a large collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LBHX
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The tag shows slight creasing on edges, and the tag you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition.
