ARTIFACT: This is a World War II submarine launch ribbon for the USS Sennet SS-408, launched on June 6, 1944 at Portsmouth (NH) Naval Shipyard. The Sennet was sent off my Mrs. Roscoe W. Downs, the first woman in New Hampshire to have five sons enlisted in the armed services. Happily, all five of the Downs boys made it home from the war. Sennett received four battle stars for her World War II service.

VINTAGE: Circa 1944.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4 in width and 5-1/4" in length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed silk.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRAEX110 LFJX9/11

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The ribbon has some light wear with areas of minor bleeding.
