WWII Submarine Launch Ribbon for the USS Medregal (SS-480) with Typo of "Medrigal"

This is a souvenir ribbon for the launching of the USS Medregal (SS-480) from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. The Medregal was launched on December 15, 1944, and damage sustained during an underwater collision had her retreating for repairs at the time of the German surrender. She subsequently served in both the Atlantic and Pacific fleets until the end of her United States Navy career in 197The ribbon shows an incorrect spelling of the ship' name: "Medrigal".

Circa World War II.

Approximately 5-3/8" in height and 2-1/4" in width.

Printed ivory silk.
