This is a souvenir ribbon for the launching of the USS Conger (SS-477) from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. The Conger was launched on October 17, 1944 and saw the end of World War II from Pacific waters. She was reclassified to AGSS-477 shortly before her retirement from service in 1964.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 5-1/4" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed green silk.
