ARTIFACT: This is a souvenir ribbon for the launching of the USS Stingray SS-186 from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on October 6, 1937. The Stingray carried out several special missions in the Philippines during her last three war patrols and was decommissioned in 1945. The Stingray received twelve battle stars during World War II.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 5-9/16 in height and 2-1/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed red acetate ribbon.
