ARTIFACT: Beautiful WWII Royal Air Force Glider Pilot Wing padded for full dress and beautifully embroidered. This wing is from the estate of 316th Troop Carrier Group Glider Pilot Lieutenant Howard Johnson. The highly decorated 316th flew the Douglass C-47 Skytrain and served in both the European and Mediterranean Theaters during WWII. The center of the British-made wing features a multi-colored royal crown with feather detailed wings on either side and standing atop, is a crowned lion.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 4 3/8" x 1 ??"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Embroidered with cotton/polyester/silk thread, treated cotton backing, padded wool felt.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn on.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWII RAF Glider Pilot collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TRCEX09 LDGEX7/15

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The wing shows minor to moderate wear and soiling.
