This is a World War II Japanese Order of the Rising Sun, 7th Class. The Order was established in 1875 and is second only in prestige to the Order of the Chrysanthemum. The medal is a cluster of purple flowers (paulownia) with green leaves.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/4" in height (including ring) and 1-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Suspension ring.
MARKINGS:Characters on reverse.
