ARTIFACT: This is a Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure 6th Class medal. It hangs from a pale green and golden striped ribbon. The honor is awarded for longtime faithful service and was established in 1888. The medallion has white enameled rays ornamented by a red glass center and a mirror at its center.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-13/16" in width by 3-5/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled silver with silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Hook and "U" hasp, suspension ring.

MARKINGS: "勲功栓章" KUN-KO-SEN-SYO:Merit Medal

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The medal has some wear to the ribbon, an overall moderate tarnish and some small chips to the red enamel.
