Description
This is a World War II 7th Class Order of the Rising Sun medal hanging from a red and white ribbon with matching lapel stud showing a red cross. The award dates from 1875 and was given to both civilians and members of the military. The badge shows a beautiful cluster of purple flowers and green paulonia leaves, an Imperial family insignia.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Medal is about 1-1/2" in width by 2-5/8" in height; stud is about 1/2" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver with enamel, silk ribbon.
ATTACHMENT:Hook with "U" hasp; suspension ring; lapel stud.
