ARTIFACT: World War II Imperial Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure 8th Class medal hanging from a pale green and golden ribbon with matching lapel stud showing a golden "Y". The reverse shows Japanese kanji in debossed detail. This example is in its original black case with the top showing kanji in gold detail. The honor is awarded for longtime faithful service and was established in 1888.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII.

SIZE: Approximately Medal: 3" in length x 1-5/16" in width. Stud: 1/2" in diameter; Case: 3-3/4" in length x 2-1/2" in width x 7/8" in depth.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver, silk ribbon, brass, Bakelite, satin, steel.

ATTACHMENT: Hook with U hasp; suspension ring; lapel stud; Hinged case.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Japanese militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-KYB-16 LIEX9/16 SIEX04/22

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): The medal shows minor wear and tarnish, the case shows moderate surface scratches, colors of silk ribbon are bright, overall excellent condition.
