ARTIFACT: This is a very rare early World War II one year of service pin for PAA Africa (also known as PAA Ferries). Roosevelt and Churchill approached Pan Am to form a subsidiary that would have outposts in Africa, and the venture became instrumental in supplying Allied troops in Egypt and Sudan. The pin is in sterling silver and is in a screwback style.

VINTAGE: Circa early World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in length x 7/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: STER on reverse of pin; STERLING on backing.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin shows some light wear.
