Rare Numbered Early WWII PAA Africa (PAA Ferries) Shoulder Strap Badge #1600

This is a rare circa early World War II numbered shoulder strap badge for PAA Africa (also known as PAA Ferries). Roosevelt and Churchill approached Pan Am to form a subsidiary that would have outposts in Africa, and the venture became instrumental in supplying Allied troops in Egypt and Sudan. The pin is gold-filled and is numbered on reverse.

Circa early World War II.

Approximately 1/2" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

Gold-filled.

Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
