Unique Hand-Painted Civil War US Navy Ironclad USS Monitor Miniature Mug

This is a Civil War era miniature mug for the United States Navy Ironclad USS Monitor. The front of the mug shows a hand-painted eagle between union flags and reads MONITOR BEATS ALL in gilt script. The bottom of the mug appears to bear the initials of the decorator - W.M.

Circa Civil War.

Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 1-13/16" in width (including handle) and 1-5/16" in diameter.

Porcelain.

W.M. (?) - probably decorator's initials.

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The mug has some small spots of paint missing around the lip, some small spots of discoloration, a surface hairline crack by the handle, and roughness along the bottom edge.

As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
