ARTIFACT: This is a United States-made submarine jacket patch for the United States Navy's USS Halibut SSGN-587, the first submarine designed to launch guided missiles and to carry the Ships Inertial Navigation System (SINS). The patch is roughly crest-shaped and shows a halibut firing off a rocket behind a submarine.

VINTAGE: Circa 1960s.

SIZE: 5" height and 5-1/4" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully- embroidered patch in multi-colored silk/cotton/polyester threads.
