Rare WWII USAAF 23rd Fighter Group DI Type 23-A-5. Smaller Size with Dark Background

Rare WWII United States Army Air Forces 23rd Fighter Group Distinctive Insignia (DI) Type 23-A-The smaller size DI shows the Group's emblem, a winged tiger with a lightning bolt behind it and a darker blue background – this example is almost purple! Great variation in this type.

7+ (Very Fine+): The DI shows mild to moderate wear, a small pin-hole 'blemish' in the top corner appears to have occurred during manufacture, three small sections of enamel in the tail are lost (does not detract), overall very fine condition.

As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
