ARTIFACT: This is a WWII era pin made for a member of the United States Armed Forces who made an emergency parachute jump and who was "Saved for America" by a J.G. Menihan Chute. The pin is rectangular and shows a parachutist jumping past rays of sun and a single star on red, white and blue enamel. Type I, without "J.G. Menihan Chute" on reverse. This "e;Bail Out"e; pin is akin to those given by the Caterpillar Club.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1-1/16" height and 1/2" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with red, white and blue enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in swivel catch.

MARKINGS: "SAVED FOR AMERICA"/AWARDED TO/FOR EMERGENCY PARACHUTE JUMP" on reverse.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has retained its true colors and there is only minimal wear on the surface; some oxidation on reverse.
