ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1948-1949 decal for the United States Navy 2nd VF-93 fighter squadron featuring Woody Woodpecker, who was officially approved as the group's insignia in January 1949. This squadron existed from August 1948 until November 1949 and was carrier-based, flying F8F Bearcats. We have matching jacket patch for this decal listed separately.

VINTAGE: Circa 1948-1949.

SIZE: Approximately 7-1/8 in width and 6-7/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Color decal with original backing.

ATTACHMENT: Adhesive.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEX11 LAGEX9/11 SeVBBJX10/18

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The decal has never been used, with a few creases and some curling at the corners.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
