NOTE: All of these USN patches being listed on x000D
consignment with consignor code CON-DSS come from the lifelong collection of a x000D
retired Vietnam War USN Pilot who had close times with the Tailhook Association x000D
and was able to obtain some very special and unique patches. We are proud to x000D
have been given the opportunity to bring parts of this collection to market. We x000D
will be listing 25 or so now, and hope to have another offering in April or x000D
May.
What we have here is a Rare Korean War USN VF-721 Starbusters x000D
Flight Jacket Patch featuring Woody Woodpecker as a night in shining armor x000D
riding a black panther, representing the F9F Panthers the squadron flew off of x000D
the USS Boxer CV-21 in 1951.

The VF-721 Starbusters were established at NAS Glenview on 1 x000D
July 194The Squadron was called to active duty on 20 July 1950, x000D
reestablished as VF-141 on 4 February 1953, then reestablished as VF-53 on 15 x000D
October 196The unit was disestablished on 29 January 197The Starbusters x000D
Woody Woodpecker Insignia was approved on 6 March 1951.
