ARTIFACT:

NOTE: All of these USN patches being listed on x000D consignment with consignor code CON-DSS come from the lifelong collection of a x000D retired Vietnam War USN Pilot who had close times with the Tailhook Association x000D and was able to obtain some very special and unique patches. We are proud to x000D have been given the opportunity to bring parts of this collection to market. We x000D will be listing 25 or so now, and hope to have another offering in April or x000D May.  :


What we have here is a rare ca 1947 USN VF-6A Fighter Squadron 6A Large fully embroidered Flight Jacket Patch, apparently removed from flight clothing. 
This Squadron was established as VBF-5 at Klamath Falls on 8 May 1945, then reestablished as VF-6A on 15 November 1946, and reestablished as VF-52 on 16 August 194The unit was disestablished on 23 February 195This insignia was used from 1947 until 194VF-6A flew F8F Bearcats. The name on back does not appear to have belonged to the original wearer.

Approximately: 7-1/2" in height x 4-1/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered in silk/cotton threads.
