This is a great pair of matching Korean War Japanese-made Distinctive Insignia (DIs) for the United States Army's 31st infantry regiment.
Each pin shows a polar bear, an insignia chosen for the regiment's original tour of duty in Siberia just post WWI, and reads PRO PATRIA (For One's Country).
VINTAGE:
Circa Korean War.
SIZE:Each: 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass with blue and yellow enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Pair of stick pins in each DI, with clutch backs.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): Pins show minimal tarnishing and light wear.
