ARTIFACT:

This is a Korean War period distinctive insignia for the United States Army 19th Infantry Regiment. The DI is Korean-made and is on an epaulet strap. The DI is enameled and reads THE ROCK OF CHICKAMAUGA, the motto of the 19th.
VINTAGE:Circa Korean War.
SIZE:DI: approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-3/16" in width; strap: 4" in total length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt and enameled brass; wool.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch; strap.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEL13 LEEX8/13
CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The DI shows little wear.
