This is a distinctive insignia for the United States Army 31st Infantry Regiment. The DI shows a polar bear to symbolize the 31st's service in Siberia. The DI reads PRO PATRIA (for country).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-5/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch-back catches.
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAL90 LAJX10/11
CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The DI shows only very light wear.
