Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1964 Mount Vernon, New York Police Commissioner badge presented to George F. Kummerle. The badge contains 33 grams of 14 karat gold and reads POLICE DEPT. COMMISSIONER MT. VERNON, N.Y. and shows the State of New York seal at center and an eagle at top. The reverse of the badge has an engraved presentation message and date.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1964.

SIZE:

2-3/16" height and 1-13/16" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

14 karat gold (33 grams) with blue enameled lettering and three sapphires.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch and chain link attachment for use as a pendant.

MARKINGS:

PRESENTED TO GEORGE F. KUMMERLE BY HIS FRIENDS JAN. 1964 and RS 14K.
