ARTIFACT: This is a circa mid- to late 1960s United States Navy ship lighter for the ammunition ship USS Virgo AE-30, launched June 4, 1944, initially as an attack cargo ship (USS Virgo AKA-20). The lighter was made by Ronson Typhoon of Hong Kong. It has an applied enamel medallion and is excellent condition.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-late 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width and 5/8" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Hinge.

MARKINGS: RONSON¨ TYPHOON¨ BRITISH EMPIRE MADE U.S. PAT.D-188.507 HONG KONG on bottom.
