Description
This is a mint and unfired circa mid-1950s United States Navy ship lighter for the USS Castor AKS-Launched May 20, 1939, the Castor was a general stores issue ship. After a 1956 typhoon, the Castor rescued eleven souls from the disabled Philippine merchantman ship, SS Lepus. This lighter was made by Prince of Japan and is in its original cellophane wrapper. The lighter has a nice applied enamel insignia on one side and an engraved image on the other.
VINTAGE:Circa mid-1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width and 1/2" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Chrome-plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Hinge.
MARKINGS:Prince Rocky Pat No. Prince Mfg Co. on bottom.

CONDITION:10 (Mint as new): The lighter is unfired and in mint condition (it is still in its original cellophane wrapper).
