Description
This is a circa late 1960s jacket patch for the United States Air Force 42nd Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron (42nd TEWS). Based first at Takhli AFB in Thailand as part of the 355th Tactical Fighter Wing, the 42nd TEWS monitored North Vietnamese radar stations in RB-66Cs to aid USAF strike aircraft. In late summer of 1970 the squadron transferred to Korat RTAFB. The patch is Japanese-made and fully embroidered. It shows an eagle perched upon the globe flanked by a radar screen and lightning bolts.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1960's.
SIZE:Approximately 3-5/8" in height x 3-3/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.
