Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa late 1960s jacket patch for the United States Air Force 77th Tactical Fighter Squadron, also known as the "Gamblers". The 77th was stationed in England during the 1950s and 1960s and flew in support of NATO. The patch is embroidered upon leather with a canvas backing and is Japanese-made. It shows a hand of playing cards at center.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 4-7/8" in height and 4-5/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads upon leather, canvas backing.

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The patch has only some light wear with a couple of minor spots of discoloration to the backing only.
