Late 1930s American President Lines Shipping Company Hat Badge

This is a circa late 1930s hat badge for American President Line shipping company. The American President Line was formed in 1938 after the demise of the Dollar Shipping Company, around since 1900. The badge has great gold bullion details and a red enameled pennant at center bearing a white eagle.

Circa late 1930s.

Approximately 3-1/2" in height and 4" in width.

Wool embroidered in bullion threads, gilt brass with enamel, elasticized cotton band.

Partial band; single screw post with disc backing.
