Japanese-Made US Navy USS Remora SS-487 Submarine Patch

This is a Japanese-made submarine patch for the United States Navy's USS Remora SS-48The Remora was launched on July 12, 1945, and spent most of her 28 year career in the United States Navy in Pacific waters. In 1973 she became part of Greece's Navy and was renamed Katsonis. The patch shows a duck turned sailor with a periscope riding a fish and reads U.S.S. REMORA SS 487.

5" diameter.

Fully-embroidered patch in multi-colored silk/cotton/polyester threads with a muslin backing.

USGS 7718 is stamped on reverse.
