This is a circa 1960s pocket patch for the United States Navy USS Remora (SS-487) submarine. The Remora was launched on July 12, 1945, and spent most of her 28 year career in the United States Navy in Pacific waters. In 1973 she became part of Greece's Navy and was renamed Katsonis. The patch shows a golden Buddha sitting on a wave beneath a pair of dolphins.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:S written on reverse.
