This is a fabulous submarine jacket patch for the United States Navy's USS Bowfin SS-28The patch reads U.S.S. BOWFIN and shows a sailor using a bow to shoot a missile as he rides a rearing, fire-breathing fish numbered 287.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:About 5-5/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Off-white canvas patch embroidered in multi-colored silk/cotton threads with muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The patch shows medium wear and slight discoloration but has a very dynamic design.
