Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an early occupation period beer mug made in Germany for the United States Army 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, also known as the "Red Devils". The mug shows a devil suspended from a parachute on the front and the reverse lists some places the group saw service: ENGLAND, IRELAND, FRANCE, HOLLAND, BELGIUM, GERMANY. The group returned from Germany and was inactivated in November 1946.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1945-1946.

SIZE:

Approximately 5-1/4" height and 5" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Ceramic.

MARKINGS:

BAUSCHER WEIDEN with maker's mark.
