ARTIFACT: Early, 1880's - 1890's Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) member lapel stud. The front shows two soldiers shaking hands, one has a flag and eagle behind him and the other a flag and fascia, while a woman and child kneel facing them in intricate relief detail. The outer edge of the lapel stud reads: "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC 1861 - VETERAN - 1866" in embossed lettering and the reverse shows a campfire scene.

VINTAGE: Circa 1880's - 1890's

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" in diamter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze

ATTACHMENT: Lapel stud

MARKINGS: "MAY 22, 1891" on underside of lapel (inside stud - unable to image)

ITEM NOTES: This is from a GAR Veteran's collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAX11 LEEX1/16

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The lapel stud shows minor to moderate wear, small areas of verdigris, overall excellent condition with a handsome patina.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
