This is an early Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Woman's Relief Corps member badge/medal. The badge has a decorative medal bar at top with a Knight's Cross medallion hanging from a red, white and blue striped ribbon.
VINTAGE:Circa 1886.
SIZE:2-13/16" height and 1-1/2" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Copper or copper-plated brass with silk ribbon.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch.
MARKINGS:PATENTED MAY 4 AND SEPT. 28 1886.
