This is a nice early enameled pin for the Grand Army of the Republic, a fraternal organization for the Union veterans of the Civil War. The pin is very delicately detailed and reads GAR 1861-1866.
VINTAGE:Circa 1890s or earlier.
SIZE:1-1/8" in height and 5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with red, white and blue enameling.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical T-style pin with "C" catch.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a Civil War veterans collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX07 LFJX7/10 SFJX7/12
CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): Much of the enamel has worn away but pin is still commanding.
