Description
This is a circa 1970s patch for the United States Navy Composite Squadron 8 (VC-8), aka "Redtails". VC-8 came into being in 1965 (formerly ht Fleet Utility Squadron 8) at Naval Station Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico. The squadron was the last to regularly operate Skyhawks. The patch shows an eagle straddling a red plane and missile.
VINTAGE:Circa 1970's.
SIZE:Approximately 4-1/2" in height and 3-7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, mesh backing.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.
