Circa 1970s USN Patrol Squadron 44 (VP-44) aka 'Golden Pelicans' Patch

This is a circa 1970s patch for the United States Navy Patrol Squadron 44 (VP-44), aka "Golden Pelicans". Established in 1939, VP-44 was disestablished in 1991 at NAS Brunswick (Maine). The twill patch shows a golden pelican in a sight about to drop a bomb.

Approximately 4" in height and 3-7/8" in width.

Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, coated mesh backing.
