ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1970's patch for the United States Navy Attack Squadron 42 (VA-42), aka "Green Pawns". VA-42 was established September 1, 1950 at NAS Oceana in Virginia. The twill patch shows a green pawn chess piece its center.

VINTAGE: Circa 1970's.

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" in height and 4-3/4" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, coated mesh backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.
