This is a circa 1960s jacket patch for the United States Navy USS George Bancroft (SSBN-643), a nuclear ballistic submarine. The George Bancroft was launched at Groton, Connecticut on March 20, 1965 and decommissioned in 199The patch reads PAX PER SCIENTIAM (Peace through science).
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 4-7/8" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, muslin backing.
