This is a United States Navy submarine patch for the nuclearÐpowered ballistic missile submarine USS George C. Marshall SSBN-65She was launched from Newport News, Virginia on May 21, 1965 and decommissioned in September 1992.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 4-3/4" in diameter (patch is not 100% round but very nearly so).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester/silk threads.
ATTACHMENT:None.
