This is a United States Navy submarine patch for the nuclear ballistic missile submarine USS George Washington SSBN-59She was launched from Groton, Connecticut on June 9, 1959, until decommissioning in January 198The patch bears the motto PRIMUS IN PACE: First in peace.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 5-1/2" in height and 4-7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester threads.
