This is a submarine patch for the USS George Washington Carver (SSBN-656), a ballistic missile submarine. The George Washington Carver was launched from Newport News, Virginia on August 14, 196She was decommissioned in 1993.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1970s.
SIZE:Approximately 4-7/8" in height and 3-3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silky cotton embroidered in cotton/polyester threads, mesh backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.
