ARTIFACT:

This is a 1960s distinctive insignia for the United States 92nd Engineer Battalion by Ira Green. The DI shows a cross borrowed from the arms of Savoy and a four-pointed lozenge and reads GLORIA AD CAPUT VENIRE (glory in achievement).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Two posts (one backing).

MARKINGS:

IRA GREEN INC. MADE IN U.S.A.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. R/E93 LAJX10/11

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The DI shows some abrasions and one backing is missing. Someone wrote something on the reverse at one time, maybe in marker.
