ARTIFACT:

This is a United States Navy Attack Squadron 122 (VA-122) jacket patch made in Japan. Although the unit was a Skyraider Fleet Replacement training squadron based out of NAS Lemoore, California, it was typical for state-side units to have patches made in Japan, just like combat units. The patch shows an eagle riding a missile.

VINTAGE:

Circa early to mid-1960s.

SIZE:

Large: about 4-7/8 in width by 5-5/8" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Japanese fully embroidered in silk/poly.

ATTACHMENT:

To be sewn onto garment.

MARKINGS:

None.
