Description
Great mid-1960's United States Navy VA-196 large, Japanese-made jacket patch. The patch depicts a horned emblem atop a black spade, surrounded by orange and below reads: "ATKRON 196". The attack squadron flew the A-6 Invader Aircraft, and also was part of the Gulf of Tonkin incident in late summer 1964, a sea battle between North Vietnamese, which drew the President to ask for approval for military intervention.
