ARTIFACT: This is a circa late 1960s United States Navy submarine patch for the nuclear-powered submarine USS Queenfish SSN-651. She was launched from Newport News, Virginia on February 25, 1966. She was decommissioned in 1992. The patch bears the motto LA REINE DE LA MER (The Queen of the Sea). This patch was made in Japan.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1960s.

SIZE: Approximately 4-15/16" in height and 4-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, muslin backing.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The patch has little wear.
