This is a German-made 1950s distinctive insignia for the United States Army 77th Engineer Construction Battalion by Assman. The DI is a tree with its top half white against red and its green and black bottom half against white and reads LOYALTY AND SERVICE.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-5/16" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutch-back catches.
MARKINGS:A (Assman maker mark).

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The DI has a few very small spots of light wear and one corner of the enamel has a small ding.
