This is a 1950s German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 41st Engineer Battalion. The DI shows an olive branch and an oak branch crossed in front of a red triangle and reads VIGOR ET VALOR (strength and spirit).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:A (Assman maker mark).

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The DI shows has some small spots of light to medium wear and tarnish; all enamel is intact.
